Can Dündar, Chief Editor of Cumhuriyet newspaper and its Ankara representative, Erdem Gül have been brought into court as a part of an inquiry started for the news they made about the lorries of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT).

“Don’t be sad, this is a medal of honor for us,” said Can Dündar. Erdem Gül also stated although they were arrested, they were going to continue making news.

Can Dündar made a statement in the entrance of judiciary. He said “We are not spies, not traitors nor heroes. We are journalists. What we did there was entirely journalism.” He continued “As journalists, we are in charge of inspecting the public. This time we won’t be afraid.” They are accused of espionage and being a terrorist organization member.
